MOTHERS

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY, MOMS OF THE WORLD.

MOTHERS. Artist Martin Creed’s recent installation at the Hauser & Wirth Gallery, London. When asked what inspired this massive revolving piece (it’s barely contained in the space, nearly scraping the ceiling) the Turner Prize winner says he chose the subject “because, well, mothers are important. Probably the most important.” Click the image to see MOTHERS in motion and Creed’s interview. For ambient video, click here.
[As to why he chose to make it revolve, he chuckles and admits “I was interested in the idea of mothers spinning out of control… the idea rang true to me.”]
